This project aimed to design a set of adaptive utensils to assist people with limited hand-joint mobility. The solution uses the natural elasticity of materials: ergonomic handles expand to adapt to each user’s specific needs.
A grip that can change over time
Designed for people with degenerative joint conditions, the system accommodates different levels of mobility limitation as needs progress over time. It can also support children learning to use utensils and older people experiencing grip difficulties.
I developed the product through concept design, 3D modelling, rendering, and model making, using Rhinoceros and V-Ray.
